Snowflakes decorate Winnipeg’s five-day forecast

Snowflakes make an entry on Wednesday in the Winnipeg five-day forecast issued Friday. Global News

WINNIPEG – Winnipeggers will be forgiven for doing a dismayed double take when they see snowflakes on their mid-May five-day forecast.

The forecast issued Tuesday morning includes a 30 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries on Wednesday.

Showers and a high of 7 C are forecast for Tuesday – but on Wednesday, that rain may be mixed with snow. However, with another high of 7 C forecast, it won’t stick around for long.

Manitoba communities around Riding Mountain know the feeling after the area was hit with snow on Mother’s Day.

The rest of the week will remain below seasonal normals, but no more snow appears on the forecast.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all predicted to be sunny, with highs of 8 C Thursday, 12 C Friday and 15 C Saturday. The normal high at this time of year is 19 C.
