TORONTO — Beyonce’s sister Solange apparently attacked Jay Z in an elevator — and the smackdown was caught on surveillance video.
TMZ posted video Monday that appears to show Solange, who is also a singer, getting into an elevator with Beyonce and Jay Z at The Standard Hotel following the Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 5.
Solange, 27, appears to yell at Jay Z, 44, before hitting and kicking at him. Beyonce mostly stands next to her husband without getting involved.
A bodyguard for Jay Z is seen moving in and restraining Solange. At one point, he appears to hit the “stop” button on the elevator.
The fight continued, with Solange lashing out at Jay Z several more times.
It is not known what sparked the dispute and, according to People, reps for both sides have not commented.
None of the three stars has addressed the incident or the video on Twitter.
The Standard Hotel said late Monday it is investigating the leak of the video, calling it “a clear breach of our security system.”
