It is estimated that there are 70,000 British Columbians living with dementia. In the Okanagan, the numbers have doubled– climbing from 4,000 in 2005 to 7,000 in 2015. And those are only diagnosed cases– the numbers are likely much higher. As the population greys– advocates say awareness of the incurable disease is as important as ever.
