A man assaulted a passenger with a brick on a Toronto transit bus during the morning rush Thursday, police say.
Toronto police said emergency crews were called to the area of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West at 9 a.m.
Officers said the man was involved in a dispute with other passengers, and exited the bus and “armed himself with bricks.”
“The man returned to the bus and threw the bricks at two passengers,” police said in a news release.
Officers said one passenger was struck in the head and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Police are now searching for a man around five-feet-nine-inches tall, with a medium build and short, black hair. He was seen wearing a beige sweater with a small yellow logo on the front, and a larger logo on the back with the words ‘Adventure Awaits.”
The man was also wearing khaki pants, beige and pink Nike shoes and glasses, officers said.
“The man is believed to be violent,” police said. “If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
