Man fatally shot at apartment in Old Strathcona, autopsy confirms homicide

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) detectives are investigating the city’s latest homicide after a man was found dead in an apartment building on the south side.

At 2 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a weapons complaint inside an apartment near 83rd Avenue and 101st Street in Old Strathcona.

They found a man with serious injuries, EPS said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

An autopsy on Wednesday found Jason Moch, 38, died of a gunshot wound and his manner of death is a homicide.

Police said Moch also went by the names of “Eric” and “Mocha.”

As of Wednesday, no arrests had been announced.
