Dramatic video shows cyclist struck by vehicle, dragged into Toronto intersection

A dramatic video shared on social media appears to show the shocking moment a cyclist was struck by a vehicle in Toronto and dragged into an intersection.

Global News reached out to Toronto police about the incident and was told it happened before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the area of Yonge Street and Ranleigh Avenue.

The video appears to show a light-coloured sedan striking a cyclist in the right lane.

The video then appears to show the cyclist being dragged by the vehicle into the middle of the intersection. The cyclist gets up and speaks with the driver briefly, then the vehicle pulls over just outside of the intersection.

Police confirmed the vehicle remained at the scene and that the 36-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

No charges have been laid as part of the ongoing investigation.
