West Vancouver Fire and Rescue said the fire was burning near Whyte Lake. By Tuesday, the BC Wildfire Service listed the fire as “under control,” and said it had been reduced from three to one hectares in size.

The BC Wildfire Service said it was assisting municipal crews with multiple aircraft as well as two initial attack crews and two response officers.

The area around the lake was also closed, firefighters said, and people are being urged to stay away.

The fire is believed to be human caused.
