One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in the Municipality of Trent Lakes on Friday afternoon.
According to Peterborough County OPP, around 1 p.m., officers responded to a collision between a car and a pickup truck along Lakehurst Road west of the village of Buckhorn.
Police say the driver of the car — a 42-year-old man from Peterborough — was pronounced deceased.
The name of the victim was not released, however, OPP said next-of-kin has been notified.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Lakehurst Road is closed between Anchor Bay Road and Elim Lodge Road while OPP investigate. The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours, OPP stated at 4:40 p.m.
In a tweet at 2:08 p.m., Const. Dan Gay said roads were “slick” at the time with a mix of rain and snow in the region.
