Video shows suspect stealing purse from woman at Toronto subway station: police

WATCH ABOVE:Toronto Police released surveillance video on Thursday of a purported purse snatching that occurred on Monday at Broadview station. The video appears to show the suspect attempting to take a woman's purse that leads to them both falling to the ground, before he gets up and struggles to take the purse before fleeing the scene with it. Video released by Toronto Police appears to show a man aggressively robbing a woman of her purse at a TTC subway station.

Police said the robbery was reported at around 7 p.m. on Monday at Broadview Subway Station, just north of Danforth Avenue.

In the video, a man appears to walk out of camera frame near the escalators of the subway station’s westbound platform.  A few seconds later, he is seen dragging a woman by her purse causing her to fall to the ground.

Police said during the robbery the woman had fallen down the stairs.

The suspect then flees the scene as the woman tries to get up after being dragged to the ground.

Police said they were looking for a man aged 40 to 50 years old and around five feet six inches in height.

He wore a pale green jacket and beige pants, police said.
