N.B. man charged with murder after missing 24-year-old found dead: RCMP

A Moncton man has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the homicide of 24-year-old Max Boudreau.

New Brunswick RCMP said earlier that a man who had been reported missing last week was found dead. In a release, police said remains were found Tuesday in a wooded area off of Paris Street in Moncton.

Police have ruled the death as a homicide.

RCMP said on Wednesday that they arrested a 42-year-old man in connection with the investigation on the same day. The man appeared in court Wednesday afternoon, when he was charged with first-degree murder.

The accused, Justin Barrow from Moncton, was remanded into custody, and is set to return to court on Dec. 12.

On Nov. 17, police said Boudreau was reported missing after being last seen three days prior. Police said he was last seen in the evening hours of Nov. 14 on Albert Street. His remains were discovered eight days after he was last seen. Police said in a new release that an autopsy will be scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

“Our thoughts are with the family and community at this time,” RCMP said.

Police also ask anyone with information on the case to contact police.
