RCMP charge five people with attempted murder after N.S. stabbing

Nova Scotia RCMP say they have charged five people with attempted murder after a stabbing in Eskasoni.

Police said a 19-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being stabbed on Shore Road early Tuesday morning.

RCMP arrested four people throughout the day and held them in custody overnight, according to a news release.

Police say 18-year-old Andon Francis and three male youths were charged with attempted murder. They are set to appear in Sydney Provincial Court Friday.

On Thursday, the RCMP said officers arrested another male youth on Wednesday. The youth was also charged with attempted murder and is set to appear in court Thursday.

With this latest arrest, police say all five people involved in the stabbing have now been taken into custody and charged.
