Man found dead on shoulder of Highway 16

DENHOLM, Sask. – A Piapot First Nation man is dead after a collision on Highway 16.

Investigators believe the 56-year-old man was hit by his vehicle when left it while it was still in drive.

He was found lying on the shoulder of the highway on Monday night just east of Denholm, Sask. and declared dead at the scene.

The vehicle he was driving was located in the ditch a short distance away.

The name of the 56-year-old man has not been released.

An autopsy is scheduled for later in the week.

The investigation continues but Mounties say foul play is not suspected.
