A severe thunderstorm warning has been downgraded to a severe thunderstorm watch for London, Ont. and the surrounding area.
Environment Canada says its meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms “capable of producing very strong wind gusts and heavy rain.”
Residents are advised to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

While a tornado warning hasn’t been issued, Environment Canada adds that “severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.”
A heat warning also remains in effect for the London area and is expected to be lifted on Tuesday morning.
