Police search for man in connection with series of sexual assaults

CALGARY- Police are trying to track down a man who might have information about a number of sexual assaults and indecent acts targeted towards young women.

The first happened on the morning of August 7, when a woman was walking in the green space in the 500 block of Heritage Drive S.W.. A man grabbed her from behind and began to rub up against her, before the victim screamed, prompting the man to run away.

The suspect in that case is described as 30 to 35 years old, about 180 pounds and 6’ tall. He had a medium build, brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing black dress pants, black dress shoes, a navy coloured dress shirt, with well-groomed short hair and was carrying a black work bag.

The second case happened the evening of September 12 in the same area. A man approached a woman from behind, trying to engage her in a conversation while he had his hand down his pants. He then exposed himself to the woman who yelled, causing the suspect to leave.

In that case, the suspect is described as having olive skin tone, approximately 20 to 29 years old, with short, black spiky hair. He was wearing a blue track jacket with a white stripe down the side, and dark sweatpants.

The third incident happened just after 9 a.m. on September 17, while a woman was on the bus from Skyview to Saddleridge. A man sat next to her, then placed his hand on her upper thigh, running it up her leg. She moved and the man left the bus shortly after.

The man is described as approximately 5’8” tall, with short, scruffy hair, a slim build and a brown skin tone. He was wearing a grey hoodie at the time.

Although all three descriptions differ slightly, investigators believe all three cases may be related.
