TORONTO — Actor Zac Efron completed a stint in rehab about five months ago, according to several reports Tuesday.

Citing sources, E! News reported the 25-year-old High School Musical star spent time at a facility to deal with an alcohol problem.

But TMZ alleged Efron wasn’t in rehab for booze but for a “serious” cocaine addiction. The celebrity website claimed the actor also used Molly — a pure form of Ecstasy.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

TMZ reported the problem “spiraled out of control” while Efron was filming the comedy Neighbors with Canadian Seth Rogen.

A rep for Efron did not respond to TMZ’s request for comment.

People said its sources confirmed Efron finished rehab about five months ago but the magazine did not specify whether it was for alcohol or drug abuse.

There has been no confirmation of the rehab reports from Efron or his reps.

Efron was in Toronto on Sept. 6 to attend the Toronto International Film Festival gala presentation of his new movie Parkland. He was later photographed celebrating at the Grey Goose party at Soho House with co-stars Colin Hanks and Tom Welling.

The actor spent several months in Toronto in 2006 to make the musical Hairspray and made 2010’s Charlie St. Cloud in and around Vancouver.
