Many Peachland residents put on boil water advisory in wake of leak

A water main leak on Princeton Avenue left a number of Peachland homes without water Sunday and a boil water advisory is now in place as repairs get underway.

District of Peachland staff said they received a call for a water leak on Princeton Avenue just uphill of Turner Ave Sunday night.

They determined that in order to slow water flow to complete repairs, the water main had to be shut down near the water treatment plant, effectively cutting water service to the majority of Peachland.

Parts were ordered,  and staff said that assuming it goes well and no new leaks pop up, they will be able to start filling the water main again within the next hour or so.
