Hamilton police investigating fatal collision in Flamborough

Police say a driver died after a crash involving an SUV and a sedan at the intersection of Woodhill Road and Highway 5 West in Flamborough. Another driver was sent to hospital with serious injuries – Sep 15, 2021

Police say a driver is dead following a two vehicle collision in Flamborough, Ont. on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash – involving a burgundy Honda SUV and a silver Ford sedan – happened just before 1 p.m. at the northwest corner of Woodhill Road and Highway 5 West.

“The driver of the silver four door vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene and is still trapped in the vehicle,” Const. Indy Bharaj told Global News on scene.

Bharaj said both vehicles were located in a ditch on Highway 5 when emergency crews arrived.

Investigators believe the Ford, travelling northbound on Woodhill, was struck in the intersection by the Honda.

A 64-year-old from Cambridge is the sedan driver who succumbed to injuries at the scene.

The other driver, a 73-year-old Hamilton woman, was sent to hospital with minor injuries.

Bharaj said the nature of the crash and the factors leading up to it have not yet been determined.
