Crash in Hamilton’s east end sends motorcycle rider to hospital with critical injuries

Police say a serious motorcycle crash on Tuesday afternoon in east Hamilton sent an 18-year-old local man to hospital with “critical” injuries.

Investigators say the crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. and involved a Suzuki motorcycle and a Ford commercial van at the intersection of Main Street East & Province Street South in the city’s east end.

It’s believed the rider of the Suzuki was westbound on main when he collided with the southbound van driven by a 36-year-old male from Barrie, Ontario.

A collision reconstruction team say they have yet to rule out any factor in the investigation and are asking any witnesses to reach out to Hamilton police.
