A residential fire in Westmount early Monday morning forced the evacuation of sleeping residents from neighbouring buildings.
The Montreal fire department said no one was in the residential building on Ste-Catherine Street, which was undergoing renovations.
There were no injuries, but residents were forced from nearby homes due to the fire, according to the department.
The blaze was called in to emergency services around 2:30 a.m. and it took nearly 60 firefighters to bring it under control.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
