SASKATOON – Saskatoon police have released a surveillance photo of a man suspected of starting an early morning garage fire in the King George neighbourhood.
At 2:53 a.m., fire crews responded to a garage fire at 1009 Avenue K South on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, light smoke was showing from the rear of the garage and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and determined it was deliberately set.
No injuries were reported and damage is estimated at about $2,000.
Surveillance footage was obtained from the home which shows suspicious activity prior to the blaze.
Video shows a light-coloured van pulling up to the garage and a male driver getting out of the vehicle to spread what appears to be accelerant outside.

He throws a lit rag which ignites the blaze and is then seen driving away.
The suspect is described as 5’9″, 250 to 275 lbs, with dark hair. He was also wearing a long sleeved shirt at the time.
