The plans include:
-Designing the northwest berm at the northwest Highwood River Bank to a higher standard, so it can cope with a larger high water event.
-Extending the connection berm between the northwest berm and the Highwood River Park, and provide armouring by using coarse rock for strength and stability.
-Repairing and modifying the town dike for a larger high water event
-Intiate land negotiations to construct berms on private land.
The mayor says those are all priority projects to ensure the long-term safety of the community.
Hundreds of homes and businesses were affected during the June flood, and many have since been determined uninhabitable.
