Liberal candidate Jean-Yves Duclos is the projected winner in the riding of Quebec.
The riding consists of the central part of Quebec City, and it includes the borough of La Cité and the southern part of Les Rivières.
Christiane Gagnon held this seat for the Bloc Québécois from 1993 until her defeat in 2011 when Annick Papillon took the seat for the NDP.
Liberal MP Jean-Yves Duclos was first elected to the riding in 2015, and was re-elected in 2019. Before 2015, a Liberal had not been elected to the riding of Quebec since 1980.
Duclos, a former economics professor at Université Laval, served as the minister of families, children and social development from 2015-2019. He is currently the president of the treasury board.
Spanish is the most common non-official language in the riding.
