The riding is located north of Montreal. It includes the entire Regional County Municipality of Montcalm and the city of Mascouche.
Close to 3.5 per cent of this riding’s population consists of immigrants. Common origin countries include Haiti, France and Italy.
Luc Thériault of the Bloc Québécois was re-elected in Montcalm in 2019, beating Liberal Isabel Sayegh by 37.6 percentage points. Thériault has had control over the seat since 2015.
