Halifax RCMP are investigating a shooting that occurred in North Preston on Wednesday morning and say one victim has been identified.
Police were called to the area just before 1 a.m. in response to reports of gunshots.
Police say a victim was located on his way to the hospital.
The 20-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. Investigators believe he was shot near Clarence Street.
Police also received another report of shots fired near Alex Lane, but it is not yet known if the two incidents are related.

RCMP say they remain on scene in North Preston.
Early Wednesday morning, police initially called the situation an “active operation” and an “unfolding event,” and asked residents to stay inside their homes.

In an updated release they said the community is no longer required to stay away from the area.
