Emergency crews were called to the area of Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue around 5:20 p.m.

Police said a dark-coloured sedan was travelling eastbound on Sheppard Avenue and turned left to go north on Kennedy Road.

Officers said the victim was struck in a crosswalk and dragged around 500 metres. He died at the scene.

On Wednesday, police said that the driver remained at the scene and was co-operating with investigators.

“The initial vehicle that struck the male … had fled the scene. The vehicle at the location was a subsequent collision and that driver did remain at the scene and is fully co-operative.”

Officers are appealing for anyone with video of the incident or additional information to contact them.

Roads were closed in the area for the investigation.
