TORONTO — Just call him Reverend Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Sherlock star recently officiated at the wedding of two of his friends in Ibiza.
Wearing a black suit with an open-neck dress shirt, Cumberbatch presided over the nuptials of Seth Cummings and Rob Rinder at an outdoor civil ceremony.
Cumberbatch, 37, reportedly got ordained online.
“It’s a very private, lovely thing to be asked to do,” he told Vulture.

The British actor is a busy man, indeed. After playing the villain in this summer’s Star Trek Into Darkness, Cumberbatch learned he was nominated for an Emmy for his work in Parade’s End.
He also has three movies coming to the Toronto International Film Festival, including the opening night selection The Fifth Estate — in which he portrays WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Cumberbatch is scheduled to be in Toronto early next year to star in Guillermo del Toro’s new movie Crimson Peak.
Cumberbatch is not the first star to officiate at a wedding. Canadian actor Victor Garber oversaw the exchanging of vows between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner in Turks and Caicos in 2005.
Actress and reality show star Tori Spelling used the Internet to become an ordained minister so she could perform a commitment ceremony for two of her gay friends in 2007.
