The break-and-enter and gunfire in the 5800-block of 129 Street on Oct. 3 left a 67-year-old man in critical condition with gunshot wounds, according to police.

The victim is not known to police and remains in critical, but stable condition, Surrey RCMP said Wednesday.

Police sources have told Global News the suspect broke into the victim’s townhouse, went upstairs, and shot the 67-year-old several times as he lay sleeping.

Sources have also revealed that a known gang associate lives near the victim, and that the senior may not have been the intended target.

Mounties have released a photo of a white Nissan Rogue seen in the area at the time of shooting.
