One person was killed in a collision on Stoney Trail Southeast on Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to a crash on the exit ramp from eastbound 114 Avenue Southeast onto northbound Stoney Trail just after 4:30 a.m.
Police said a white, 2020 Volvo semi-tractor that was pulling a 53-foot trailer, was travelling north on the ramp from 114 Ave. S.E., towards Stoney Trail when it was struck from behind by a blue, 2017 Honda HR-V.
Officials said the Honda went under the rear of the trailer and struck the axle.
EMS said the driver of the vehicle, a man believed to be about 35 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi-tractor wasn’t injured.

Police closed northbound Stoney Trail Southeast at 114 Avenue to investigate.
Excessive speed, alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the collision, police said.
