One person is dead and two are critically injured after a shooting in a Halifax neighbourhood on Canada Day.
Halifax Regional Police say they responded to reports of shots fired in 6300 block of Cork Street around 10:43 p.m. AT.
When officers arrived at the scene, police say they located a male victim with gunshot injuries outside of a home, a deceased adult man inside of a residence and an adult woman with injuries.
The injured man and woman were taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. They remain there at this time.
Police say they did not initially release that one person was found dead “as a result of the circumstances and the ongoing investigation.”
Investigators believe the three people are known to one another.
Cork Street from Dublin to Oxford streets remains closed, and officers are still at the scene.
The investigation is in its early stages, and police say further information will be released when it becomes available.
