1 in serious condition after shooting in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating their second shooting in Kitchener in less than a week.

A 55-year-old Mississauga man was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the Deer Ridge area on Wednesday night, according to Waterloo Regional Police.

They say the incident occurred in the parking lot of the TD Bank at King Street East and Deer Ridge Drive at around 9:45 p.m.

A tall, white man was seen fleeing the scene in black Mercedes which was last spotted heading eastbound on King Street East towards the Highway 401. Police did not say whether he was alone in the vehicle.

They are investigating to see whether the incident was targeted.
