A 17-year-old student is in stable condition and another is under arrest after a stabbing inside a Mississauga high school on Monday morning.
The student was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following the incident at T.L. Kennedy Secondary School, which resulted in a three-hour police lockdown.
Peel Regional Police responded to the incident just before 10 a.m. and put the school under lockdown while they investigated, and looked for a suspect.
The lockdown was lifted at 12:35 p.m.
Police would not release the location of the stab wounds or number of times the victim was stabbed.
One male student told Global News that the incident began with a fight in the hallway. He says he did not see the stabbing, but a friend later approached him holding his arm, saying he had been stabbed.
The suspect, who can not be named, faces a number of charges including aggravted assault and breach of probation.
