NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – Two people have been killed after a float plane crashed in North Battleford, Sask.
Their names have not been released.
A Piper PA 14 equipped with pontoons took off from a lake north of the city and crashed shortly after take-off.

It was heading to Crawling Lake, Alta.
The place was engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived at the scene near Cameron McIntosh Airport.
The airport has been shut down and city officials are asking everyone to stay away from the airport.

The Transportation Safety Board is assembling a team in Winnipeg and are expected to be at the crash site Friday afternoon.
TSB officials say it will take a couple of days to assess the wreckage.
The plane was registered in the Yukon and was scheduled to head back there after flying to Crawling Lake.
