Viewers have determined Jordan Witzel is the most talented gingerbread house creator among the Global News Morning Calgary team.
In the spirit of Christmas, the team decorated gingerbread houses as part of an on-air competition.
On Monday, Dallas Flexhaug, Leslie Horton, Jordan Witzel and Matthew Conrod were each given an E-Z Build Gingerbread House Kit from Create-a-Treat and tasked with assembling and trimming it.
The rules were simple:
- Each participant had to build and decorate their own house from the kit provided — no help allowed!
- Each participant could use the candy contained in the kit to decorate, but participants were also encouraged to use additional decorations.
The finished products were debuted on-air on Wednesday morning.
Viewers voted for their favourite gingerbread house in a poll — and Witzel won the competition with 45 per cent of the vote.
“Thank you, folks. I feel fantastic,” Jordan said after the results were unveiled live on the Morning News.
“It is now off the market. I’ve decided I am now going to … now stay in my gingerbread cabin. I’m going to take it home, display it.”
Leslie came in second place, garnering 36 per cent of the vote, while Dallas and Matthew came in a distant third and fourth, with 11 and eight per cent of the vote respectively.
