2 sent to hospital after multi-vehicle crash in Middle Sackville

Two people were taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash in Middle Sackville on Wednesday.

RCMP, EHS and Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency responded to reports of a collision shortly after 8 a.m.

Police say a vehicle was traveling westbound on Sackville Drive when collided with two other vehicles near Millwod Drive.

The vehicle then struck a man that was standing on the sidewalk at Sackville Drive and Lucasville Road before colliding into a house in the 1200 block of Sackville Drive.

The pedestrian, a 64-year-old man was taken to hospital with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, an 82-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash and the intersection of Sackville Drive and Lucasville Road was closed for approximately one hour before re-opening.

RCMP say their investigation is ongoing.
