Police said officers were called to the area of Perth Avenue and Dupont Street, near Dundas Street West, just before noon with reports of multiple collisions.

Initial reports from the scene suggested around seven vehicles had been struck, but when officers arrived at the scene a spokesperson said they found at least 15 vehicles and a home that had been struck.

Police said the vehicles had varying degrees of damage and the home was not severely damaged. No injuries were reported.

Officers initially said it was believed the driver was impaired at the time of the collision and that the man was being taken to be assessed by a breath technician. However, officials later told Global News the accused was not impaired.

Global News obtained surveillance video from a home in the area appearing to show part of the incident. In the video, a white cube van can be seen crashing into a Jeep before fleeing the scene. People can then be seen chasing after the van.

A witness at the scene told Global News people who chased after the driver were eventually caught up with the accused, holding him until police arrived.
