Woman stabbed multiple times in Toronto’s north end, man charged with attempted murder

Toronto police say a man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman in her 30s was stabbed several times in the city’s north end Monday afternoon.

Police said emergency crews were called to the Yonge Street and Pleasant Avenue, just south of Steeles Avenue West, at around 2 p.m.

Paramedics took the woman to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said in an update that officers have a man in custody.

On Tuesday, investigators said 30-year-old Sen Yang was charged with causing a disturbance, possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace, aggravated assault, attempted murder and two counts of assault with a weapon.

He was scheduled to appear in a Toronto court Tuesday.
