The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said in a statement police were called to a home near Cambrett and Morning Star drives, near Goreway Drive, in Mississauga just after 9 p.m. on Tuesday for a domestic incident.

The SIU said officers had an interaction with a 34-year-old man that involved the use of a conducted energy weapon, more commonly known as a Taser.

“The man went vital signs absent and was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead,” the statement said.

The SIU is an independent agency that investigates incidents involving police that have resulted in death, serious injury or an alleged sexual assault.
