On Tuesday, they went on a camping trip on the east side of the lake in an area accessible only by boat.

The coroner’s service says a hiker in a remote area of the lake found camping equipment washed up on the beach on Wednesday and called authorities.

A search of the area began and the men’s bodies were found in separate areas of the beach, while a car-top aluminum boat was discovered nearby.

The coroner’s service and the RCMP are continuing to investigate the deaths.
