A 51-year-old man is facing drug trafficking and firearm charges following a search warrant executed at a Kingston home.
Around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Kingston police, including their emergency response team, combed through a home at 277 Rideau St.
Police returned to the home on Monday to continue the search.
An unidentified man was arrested as a result of the search and held overnight to attend a bail hearing on Monday.
Police charged the 51-year-old with trafficking fentanyl, possession of a firearm without a licence, five counts of possessing a firearm while prohibited, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of proceeds of crime, two counts of breach of undertaking and three counts of breach of probation.
During the search of the Rideau Street home, police seized a large amount of cash and fentanyl, along with various firearms and prohibited weapons.
Det. Sgt. Finn said the arrest and the search warrant was unrelated to an incident on Saturday, where a man discharged a firearm in Kingston. That man is still at large.
