Halifax Regional Police are investigating a bomb threat that was received in Dartmouth on Tuesday afternoon.
At 3:41 p.m., police responded to the Nova Scotia Hospital at 300 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth for a bomb threat after a threatening phone call was received from an anonymous caller.
As a precaution, the hospital was evacuated, with the Nova Scotia Health Authority confirming that Mount Hope building was the one being evacuated of staff and patients.
Rachel Boehm, director of mental health and addictions in the central zone, told media that the threat was received at 3:35 p.m.
“They did a great job evacuating and everything went well,” said Boehm.

Officers, with K9 assistance, searched the building and nothing suspicious was located.
Police did not provide more information on the nature of the threat, saying that the matter is still under investigation.
By 5:45 p.m., all evacuated personnel and patients returned to the building and Pleasant Street has been re-opened to traffic.
There were no injuries reported.
