A pedestrian was killed following a collision on Highway 28 in the Woodview area on Monday morning.
Peterborough County OPP around 8 a.m stated the highway was closed between Mount Julian-Viamede Road and Northey’s Bay Road in North Kawartha Township.
Const. Joe Ayotte says the collision around 7:45 a.m. involved a northbound commercial vehicle and a pedestrian near Butler Drive. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported, Ayotte said.
Police stated on Twitter around 8:50 a.m. the highway will be closed for an extended time as OPP investigate the cause of the collision.
The highway reopened around 4 p.m. Monday.
On Tuesday morning, OPP identified the victim as Aaron Leveck, 40, of Peterborough
The deceased was transported to the Provincial Forensic Pathology Unit at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex in Toronto for a post-mortem examination.
