KELOWNA, BC – Rockets, Vees, Warriors, Vipers even the Canucks; hockey season has ended for all those teams but there is one team in Kelowna that is not only still playing but are on a winning streak.

The Kelowna Heat Spring team has a record of 38 wins 2 loses and 1 tie in 41 games and the AAA team has just won their 5th tournament in a row.

The “03’s” as they’re called are made up of 9 and 10 year olds who are gaining attention in the league because that record is virtually unheard of for this level of play in the Okanagan region.

Coach Jeff Patton says it’s because they have a balanced team.

“We don’t have any stars on the team,” says Patton. “It’s basically we just roll the lines and everybody contributes and that’s why we have success.”

“I like to play, I like to get better and I don’t like to do anything else,” says player Jarrett Watson.

The “03’s” have one more tournament before they wrap up the season.

They are playing in the Challenge Cup in Vancouver over the May long weekend.

“We’re a good team,” says Jarrett. “Come see us.”
