Police said they received a call around 8:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing in the area of Hansen Road North and Charters Road, near Kennedy Road North and Williams Parkway.

A police spokesperson told Global News that a man was stabbed and died on scene.

Police said they believe an altercation took place at the residence.

Investigators said 19-year-old Kevon Samuel of Brampton, who police say was known to the victim, was taken into custody in relation to the incident and there is no threat to the public. He has been charged with second-degree murder.
