The chemicals and materials in the room were consistent with previous clandestine lab activity, according to Vernon RCMP.

RCMP E Division Clandestine Lab Team experts are consulting with police.

Police have seized substances of concern, but the lab has been determined not to be active and is being described as small and unsophisticated.

A professional chemical disposal company is handling the removal of the materials.

RCMP say the investigation continues. The area on 30th Avenue and 30th Street in Vernon has been closed off while crews remain at the scene.
