ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – Jason Robertson had the power-play winner in overtime as the Niagara IceDogs edged the Oshawa Generals 3-2 on Friday to open their second-round Ontario Hockey League playoff series.

Ben Jones and Drew Hunter also scored for the IceDogs, while Stephen Dhillon made 23 saves for the win.

Cole Resnick and Brandon Saigeon scored for the Generals. Kyle Keyser stopped 47 shots in net for Oshawa.

Niagara went 2 for 5 on the power play and the Generals could not score on their two man advantages.

67’S 8 WOLVES 5

OTTAWA — Lucas Chiodo and Tye Felhaber each had a hat trick as the 67’s took Game 1 of their series with Sudbury.

Chiodo’s goal 5:41 into the third period was the winner for Ottawa, while Kevin Bahl and Sam Bitten also scored.

David Levin, Blake Murray, Cole Candella, Adam Ruzicka and Owen Gilhula replied for the Wolves.

SPIRIT 4 GREYHOUNDS 1

SAGINAW, Mich. — Owen Tippett struck twice as the Spirit beat Sault Ste. Marie to take a 1-0 lead in their second-round series.

Bode Wilde’s power-play goal at 8:21 of the third period was the winner for Saginaw. Damien Giroux also scored.

Jaden Peca scored for the Greyhounds.

Spirit forward Jake Goldowski earned a five-minute major and a game misconduct for cross checking at 9:02 of the first period.

KNIGHTS 3 STORM 2

LONDON, Ont. — Kevin Hancock’s power-play goal near the midway point of the game was the eventual winner as the Knights eked out a win over Guelph in Game 1 of their series.

Liam Foudy and Josh Nelson also scored for London.

Owen Lalonde and MacKenzie Entwistle supplied the offence for the Storm.
