Woman killed in crash on Highway 16 in Wynyard, Sask.

One person is dead after a collision Monday evening in Wynyard, Sask.

Wynyard RCMP said an SUV had just turned onto Highway 16 from 9th Street when it collided with a wide-load semi.

The driver of the SUV, a 60-year-old woman from Wynyard, was declared dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

Police said the semi was hauling a large empty tank and there was no spill of hazardous goods.

A forensic collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.

Wynyard is roughly 175 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
