OSHAWA, Ont. – Police in Oshawa are seeking two suspects after they say an officer was dragged by a fleeing vehicle.
Investigators say officers pulled over a driver they suspected was impaired around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, but the driver “became irate” and took off.
They say an officer who was partially inside the vehicle in an effort to stop the driver was dragged for several feet before he could break free.
Police say the vehicle then made a U-turn and headed directly towards another officer, then sped off. Both officers fired at the vehicle during the incident.
Police say the officer who was dragged suffered minor injuries to his leg, and no other injuries were reported.
Investigators are seeking the driver, a 21-year-old man, and another person who was a passenger in the vehicle.
