A man is facing a number of charges after a motorcycle was clocked by members of the Saskatoon police air support unit doing speeds up to 260 km/h southwest of the city.
Warman RCMP said a highway patrol officer reported a northbound sport bike passed him on Highway 45, south of Delisle, at roughly 160 km/h.
The officer said the motorcyclist refused to pull over when he activated his lights.
The driver also refused to stop for a Vanscoy police officer, who said the sport bike was then spotted heading toward Saskatoon on Highway 7 at speeds up to 200 km/h.
The Saskatoon police air support unit was called in and located the motorcycle, RCMP said, which was clocked going up to 260 km/h as the motorcyclist reversed direction and headed back toward Delisle.
It was then spotted heading into a rural property near Swanson, south of Delisle on Highway 45, where police said he tried to hide the bike before fleeing on foot.
Officers from Vanscoy Police Service, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol and Outlook RCMP tracked the driver to an outbuilding on the property, where he was arrested.
Jonah Vanderlinden, 20, is charged with dangerous driving, and three counts of flight from police.
He is scheduled to appear on May 2 in Saskatoon provincial court.
