It might be March, but Old Man Winter isn’t done with the Lower Mainland quite yet.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley Wednesday.
Global BC Meteorologist Kristi Gordon said snowfall across the region will be highly variable, with some areas seeing nothing on the ground at all, while others could see several centimetres pile up.
Gordon said areas at lower elevations or closer to the water will likely see no accumulation, but cautioned that there are always pockets of cooler air at lower elevations where the snow could stick.

As of 3 p.m., TransLink said there were no disruptions to service, however it cautioned commuters to plan ahead and to leave extra time for their trips.

Overnight and into the morning there remains a continued chance of snow, Gordon said.

“If we see it, it will be in isolated pockets and will again be variable in precipitation type. We could see anywhere from zero to two cm in addition,” she said.
Thursday morning’s commute could see a mix of snow and rain, depending on the region of Metro Vancouver.
Gordon said precipitation could last into Friday morning but sunshine and warmer weather are expected to return by the weekend.
