Elgin County OPP say a homeowner is in critical condition, two days after a fire tore through a home in Union, between Port Stanley and St. Thomas.
Emergency personnel arrived at the home on Sparta Line at Sunset Drive at roughly 9:45 p.m. Monday.
An officer and a volunteer firefighter managed to remove an injured homeowner. Elgin-St. Thomas paramedics rushed the victim to hospital with serious injuries.
The homeowner is in critical condition in hospital, police say. No information about the victim has been released at this time.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it is not believed to be suspicious.
